Tulsi (Holy Basil) Tincture

from $15.00

Tulsi, “Queen of Herbs”, gets a lot of attention as an adaptogen, and rightly so, because she helps the body to cope with or adapt to environmental, mental, physical and emotional stressors. She increases one’s resilience and capacity to endure life’s challenges in a myriad of wonderful ways.

Tulsi and the Nervous System: Tulsi is especially supportive for those who have or are enduring prolonged states of stress by helping to balance cortisol levels and normalize adrenal function. She immediately soothes upon ingesting, but quiets a perpetually raw, anxious nervous system in the long-term as well.

Tulsi for the Mind and Emotions: Tulsi offers respite for those who have depression or mood disorders which feel stagnant or “stuck,” as well as those suffering from various manifestations of PTSD. It enhances cerebral circulation which is likely one reason why it is used for those with ADD, ADHD, brain fog and memory loss.

Tulsi and Immunity: Tulsi stimulates a robust immune response and helps to clear mucous from the upper and lower respiratory systems. It is warming in nature, helping the body to more effectively use a fever to fight off infection. It is also highly antimicrobial, making it very helpful for damp, stagnant, mucousy conditions which encourage bacterial growth.

Tulsi the Antioxidant: Tulsi has been well-studied and found to have potent anti-carcinogenic properties, as well as an ability to protect cells and tissues from damage caused by radiation exposure and environmental toxins. To those living in urban areas, those exposed to wi-fi and other EMF’s: Tulsi is your friend.

Tulsi and the Blood: Tulsi has been well-researched in it’s ability to help normalize blood sugar, blood fats including cholesterol and triglycerides, as well as blood pressure. It’s also an excellent daily tonic to increase circulation, energy, vitality and well-being in most anyone for any reason!

Is it surprising that Tulsi’s name means “matchless one” and has been considered a main pillar of Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years? This plant is as beautiful as it is fragrant. The sweet scent alone is euphoric and indicative of it’s many, many generous virtues. Tulsi is one of my absolute favorites to grow for medicinal and culinary uses. Because it tastes amazing even in tincture form, it’s easy to get into the habit of taking daily!
